The start

And why things come to an end for good
We’re now at the edge of our seats with so many things coming at us, in split seconds we’ve seen entire nations become dust, people get decimated, art get stolen and fed to machines. We’ve seen the oligarchs take over the governments (this time blatantly more than ever if not). We’ve seen our heroes become despots and villains, and for the single purpose of just amassing and acquiring stuff they already had (more than we could ever get in 20 lifetimes).
Although I’ve loved spending time on social media for a long time I’ve always felt detached and isolated, sure in the pandemic it helped me maintain my friendships, even so I learned languages and made new friends across the world. But nothing compares to the feeling of being there, to actually see and touch the people you’re next to. The U.S. has been my home for now 3 years and I’ve never felt more detached than ever to my brothers and sisters, my neighbors and coworkers. We do our email or food service jobs and have to fake a smile on a counter or in front of a camera, just to pretend we want to be there. We live in an era where we’d rather trust whatever person has more views/likes/money in our phone screens, spitting hate or misinformation than our own organic thoughts.
I’ve heard multiple people telling me that they cannot fathom create an idea anymore; it really has chilled my bones. Instead of doing research and giving deep thought, it’s like we’re tired of thinking, that our fire has been swept away, but more importantly, afraid we’ve lost our fire of risk taking, of questioning and raising our voices. I’m not sure as an artist how I’m dealing with the vacuum of not having a massive tool for sharing my music and photographs but at least I’ll have a small community to share with, it’s like a family. Whoever you are out there, still wanting to search for the truth and see with your own eyes what our world is made of, I extend a hand, and invite you to keep trying and keep creating. Whatever you do, don’t stop, don’t listen to the machine, don’t believe the party and rebel.
